RCB released Wanindu Hasaranga ahead of the IPL 2024 auction.

Royal Challengers Bangalore are one of the few franchises who have not won the title in the Indian Premier League even once. They have played in three finals but have yet to get their hands on the trophy. The franchise will hope that the coming 17th season can end that trophy drought for them. But the franchise has made some big decisions ahead of the IPL 2024 auction.

They released a number of bowlers who were playing for them consistently in the last couple of seasons. But the biggest area that the franchise needs to work on will be their spin department. Royal Challengers Bangalore released Wanindu Hasaranga, who was their main spinner and was doing pretty well. It means that RCB will surely be looking to sign a good spinner for the coming season. So who will it be? Let’s find out.

Here are the top four spinners that RCB can target at the IPL 2024 Auction

1. Adil Rashid:

Veteran English spinner Adil Rashid is the leading white-ball spinner in the world right now. He is England’s main weapon in T20Is and has performed all over the world. He made his IPL debut in 2023 for SRH, played two games, and took two wickets. SRH released him, and he will be available to pick. Rashid has 98 T20I wickets to his name, and he is a wicket-taker in the shorter format. RCB can certainly go after him at the auction; he might not cost them much.

2. Michael Bracewell:

Michael Bracewell was part of the RCB setup for the 2023 season. RCB picked him at his base price of INR 1 crore. He also played five matches for them, took six wickets, and scored 58 runs. But later, he got injured, and then RCB released him. Bracewell will enter the IPL 2024 auction again and will be there to pick. Banglaore can rebuy him, as he also gives batting an option down the order.

3. Shakib Al Hasan:

Shakib Al Hasan has been playing in the IPL since 2011 and has played for various teams. He is among the top all-rounders in the world and probably the best one. Shakib was part of the KKR setup in 2023, and KKR released him ahead of the IPL 2024. He will be available for the teams, and RCB can go after him because he can provide them with a brilliant option with both the bat and the ball and bat anywhere in the order. Shakib has taken 65 IPL wickets and scored 793 runs.

4. Dunith Wellalage:

Sri Lankan spin all-rounder Dunith Wellalage will be an exciting prospect at the IPL 2024 auction. He will be on the list of a few franchises because of his game-changing ability with the bat and the ball. The Southpaw had an amazing game against India in the Asia Cup 2023, which has certainly skyrocketed his stakes. Though he has yet to make his T20I debut, he has done well domestically and in the LPL.
