"They'll come on top..": AB de Villiers makes bold prediction ahead of AUS vs IND ICC WTC final

Former South African captain AB de Villiers predicts the winner of ICC WTC 2021-23 final.

ICC WTC Final 2023: The biggest test match in 2023 is all set to take place when India will lock horns with Australia on June 7 at the Oval. The final of the World Test Championship 2023 will be played between the two top teams in the longest format in last few years. India will have their second shot to win the WTC mace after losing the first edition at the hands of New Zealand in 2021.

On the other hand, Australia seem to have a better chance because of the conditions in England are similar to their conditions at home. Adding to that, the Australian pace attack looks to be more suited to the conditions at The Oval. Thus, the prediction has already started ahead of his high voltage. Many former cricketers, cricket pundits, and analysts have shared their opinions on who will come out victorious in the upcoming WTC Final.

With everything on the line, both teams will give their all to become the World Test Champions. That is why this will be an epic clash, and everyone is excited for it. Former South African star AB De Villiers has made a massive prediction for the upcoming WTC final. He admitted that it will be quite tough to predict a winner, but feels that India can get over the line on the final day of the test.

In an interaction on Jio Cinema, De Villiers said that both teams have played a lot of test cricket in recent times, which makes it difficult to choose the favorite among the two. De Villiers stated, “I can say that India in their last Test match at the Oval have got a win against this very strong England team. They will be taking a bit of confidence from that. I think India will come out on top on day five of the Test match. I think it might go all the way. It’s a good wicket to bat on but I think the Indian spinners will come into play in the latter stages of the Test match.”

Notably, India beat Australia 3-1 at home in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy few months ago. Furthermore, the 39-year-old picked Virat Kohli to do the bulk of the scoring for India in the final. He said that Virat needs to prove a point and he is always up to a challenge in such big games, which is why he will the key player for India in the final. De Villiers also mentioned that India will miss Jasprit Bumrah, but Mohammed Siraj has been in the form of his life and will be hungry for success.
