Deepak Chahar and Tilak Varma were part of the MI’s previous game in the IPL 2025.
Mumbai Indians (MI) will face Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Eliminator of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The encounter will be played on Friday, May 30, at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh.
Notably, MI could not win their last match of the league stage against Punjab Kings (PBKS). Hence, Hardik Pandya & co. finished in the fourth spot in the points table with 16 points. Now, they will have to win two matches in a row, the Eliminator and Qualifier 2, to qualify for the final.
With Eliminator around the corner, MI might face a setback ahead of the match against GT as two of their star players, Deepak Chahar and Tilak Varma, do not look fully fit. But the positive thing is that both have reached Chandigarh for the match.
Watch: Deepak Chahar and Tilak Varma strapped on their legs
A video is going viral on social media where both Chahar and Varma can be seen heavily strapped on their leg. The video was shared by a fan on the micro-blogging site X (formerly Twitter).
In the video, both players were seen at the airport with heavy bandages on their left legs. They also struggled while walking. Have a look at the video below.
If both these players are not available for the important match to be held in Chandigarh, then it will create a major void in the Mumbai Indians team. However, the franchise has yet to confirm any updates on the injuries of both players.
Notably, Chahar faced some issues with his leg in the previous game against PBKS. He also left the field once and later returned to bowl, but was seen struggling with his hamstring.
Chahar has done a decent job in IPL 2025. The right-arm seamer has picked up 11 wickets in 14 games at an economy of 9.17. Varma has mustered 274 runs in the tournament at an average of 30.44 and a strike rate of 131.73. He has scored two half-centuries, including a top knock of 59 runs.
