The year of 2023 has witnessed several great performances in the game. It was a World Cup year as India hosted the 13th edition of the World Cup and Australia came out as champion for the record 6th time. India’s chase master Virat Kohli had a terrific run in the current calendar year and went on to smash a few more batting records which were previously held by Sachin Tendulkar.
Virat Kohli’s record-breaking 50th ODI century was the special one cricket fans were awaiting from a long time. Apart from Virat Kohli, Indian opener Shubman Gill also had a wonderful time batting in the white-ball format. 5. Quinton de Kock (South Africa) – 5 :

He has scored 6 fifty plus scores in international cricket this year and converted five of them in a magnificent century. De Kock scored 4 centuries in ODI format while one in T20I format.
4. Najmul Hossain Shanto (Bangladsesh) – 5 :
Bangladesh vice-captain Najmul Hossain Shanto also had a terrific run in the calendar year 2023. Overall he has scored 5 centuries in international cricket in 42 innings. 3 out of his 5 international centuries came in test cricket and 2 came in 50-overs format. Najmul has also scored 9 half-centuries in this year. He has scored 1614 runs in at an average of 43.62.
3. Daryl Mitchell (New Zealand) – 6 :
Kiwi all-rounder had a terrific year of 2023 and helped Blackcaps on several occasions across format. Daryl Mitchell has played 7 tests, 26 ODIs and 15 T20I games for New Zealand this year. All-rounder Mitchell has smashed 6 international centuries (1 in tests and 5 in ODIs) in 52 innings. Mitchell played a magnificent knock against India in the World Cup semi-finals.

Young India opening batter Shubman Gill had a career-changing year in 2023. He started 2023 with a bang and smashed a double century in an ODI game against New Zealand at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad. Gill went on to score 7 international centuries in the current calendar year and he is second on this table.

He had a a record-breaking year and went on to become the batter with most number of ODI centuries and also became the first ever batter to hit 50 ODI centuries. Virat Kohli also became only batter to cross 700 run- mark in one edition of the World Cup. Virat Kohli has smashed 2 test centuries in 7 test matches while 6 came in the ODI format.
