BGT 2024-25: [Watch] Jasprit Bumrah dismisses Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh in the same over in MCG test

Jasprit Bumrah took his 200th test wicket during the MCG test match.

Jasprit Bumrah continued in his role as the tormenter of the Australian batsmen in the ongoing BGT 2024-25 as he took four of the first six wickets to fall in Australia’s second innings of the MCG test, having taken four wickets in the hosts’ first innings as well.

With these four strikes, Bumrah now has 29 wickets at an average of only 12.27 this series. En route this, Bumrah also claimed his 200th test wicket, becoming the 12th Indian to the landmark. Bumrah’s average of 19.39 is the best in the history of test cricket among the bowlers who took 200 or more wickets.

Travis Head was Bumrah’s 200th test victim and the speedster followed it up with the wicket of Mitchell Marsh in the same over to further dent Australia.

Bumrah had dismissed Head for 0 and Marsh for four in Australia’s first innings as well. In their second innings, the duo were dismissed for one and 0 by the Indian spearhead seamer.

To Head, Bumrah once again used the around the wicket angle. Head skipped in the air to a back of length delivery on his pads and flicked it straight to Nitish Kumar Reddy at mid-wicket.

Another back of length delivery brought the downfall of Marsh as he nicked an outside off-stump ball through to wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant.

In the same speall, Bumrah also rattled the stumps of Alex Carey, having consigned Sam Konstas to the same form of dismissal with the new ball earlier in the innings.

At the time of writing, Australia are 121/6, leading by 226 runs.
