Travis Head dismissed Rishabh Pant for 30 on day 5 at the MCG.

Although he couldn’t hurt India with the bat in the fourth BGT 2024-25 test match, Travis Head made a huge dent to India’s hopes of escaping from a defeat at the MCG as he dismissed the well-set Rishabh Pant on day 5 of the match. The Aussie star then made a weird celebration that went viral.

Pant, who had copped severe criticism for his “stupid” shot in the first innings, was measured and restrained in his knock in the second innings.

In the chase of 340, India lost three wickets for 33 runs in the first session of day 5. However, Pant and Yashasvi Jaiswal valiantly battled through the entire second session without losing their wickets.

But at the start of the third session, Pant played a poor shot once again and his innings ended for 30 runs off 104 balls. That he got out to a terrible shot selection to part-time bowler Head hurt the fans. He was batting superbly but threw away his wicket once again.

To a harmless delivery from Head, Pant played an ugly pull shot. Mitchell Marsh took an excellent catch at wide long on.

As Pant walked back with his head down, Travis Head did a unique celebration, which was indeed a bit weird as well. He made a hole in his closed fist and put his finger in it.

Initially, people assumed that it was a vulgar expression from Head but then 7Cricket pulled out an Instagram post of Head’s from 2022, in which he made the same gesture while putting his finger in an ice glass.

Meanwhile, Pant’s wicket gave Australia an opening once again and they burst through it. Scott Boland dismissed Ravindra Jadeja before Nathan Lyon got rid of Nitish Kumar Reddy.

India are 138/6 at the time of writing with 22 overs more to play. Their hopes of saving the test now lay on the Jaiswal and Sundar.
