Ishan Kishan marked his return to First-Class cricket with a brilliant century.

Wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan has posted a strong two-worded caption on his Instagram, perhaps as an aim at the BCCI selectors, following his terrific century in the second round of the Duleep Trophy 2024-25.

While batting for India C in the Duleep Trophy game in Anantapur, Kishan made his return to First-Class (FC) cricket with a bang by slamming a counter-attacking hundred against India B.

This was Kishan’s first FC cricket match since his debut test series in West Indies in July last year. He had been away from red-ball cricket in this period.

In Rishabh Pant’s absence, Kishan made his test debut last year in West Indies, but he skipped the tests in South Africa, citing personal reasons. He was then omitted from the test squad to face England at home and then lost his BCCI central contract for not playing in the Ranji Trophy even after being asked to.

He made his return to red-ball cricket with the Buchi Babu tournament in Tamil Nadu where he blasted a century.

He was then named in the India D squad for the first round of the Duleep Trophy, but missed the match due to an injury.

He was expected to miss the second round as well, but made a late entry in the India C squad and was directly drafted into the playing XI. He grabbed his opportunity very well and scored 111 runs in 126 balls with the help of 14 fours and three sixes.

Kishan’s ton helped India C post 525 runs in their first innings. The match ended in a draw.

Ishan Kishan aims to finish the “Unfinished business”

Following his innings, Ishan Kishan took to his Instagram handle to make a post for his comeback game in the Duleep Trophy’s second round. It was his caption that caught everyone’s attention.

Kishan wrote, “Unfinished business”

This perhaps is an message from the left-hander to the fans and the BCCI selectors that he is hungry for more runs and success in red-ball cricket after a tough period earlier this year.
