Rajasthan Royals (RR) star batter Riyan Parag slammed his second consecutive fifty as the visitors thrashed the hosts Mumbai Indians (MI) by six wickets in the match No. 14 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the iconic Wankhede Stadium on April 1, Monday.
In a match dominated by the bowlers, Parag struck the lone fifty. His unbeaten knock of 54 runs on 39 balls, including five boundaries and three sixes, helped Rajasthan win their third consecutive match of the IPL 2024. This six-wicket win over MI also helped them jump to the top of the IPL 2024 points table with six points to their name.
However, the victory was set by their two senior bowlers Trent Boult (3-22) and Yuzvendra Chahal (3-11) as they restricted hosts MI to 125/9 in 20 overs. Nandre Burger also took 2-32 to contribute to the Royalsâ cause after skipper Sanju Samson had won the toss and elected to field first on a pitch that provided seam movement initially but eased out in the second innings.

In a dramatic turn of events ahead of MIâs first home game against RR, a shocking visual flooded across the social media of former MI skipper Rohit Sharmaâs posters getting dumped and the staff at Wankhede Stadium have stopped fans to take inside any placards.
In a clip going viral, fans, before entering the stadium, can be seen leaving their posters and placards of Sharma outside the venue with users on âXâ (formerly Twitter) claimed that they arenât allowed to carry any cards.

People who were present at the stadium said, âthe staff at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai didnât allow any kind of placards during the MI vs RR game on Monday, April 1. They didnât discriminate Rohit Sharma fans, but they denied all of the fans to carry placards inside the stadium and were asked to throw away. The claim made in social media that only Rohit fans are not being allowed to take placards inside the stadium is false.â
Which means, the claim made by several fans across social media of being targeted of carrying Rohit Sharmaâs placards to Wankhede Stadium is false.
