Hardik Pandya missed the Australia T20Is at home and white-ball leg of South Africa tour.

Hardik Pandya has been out of contention since twisting his ankle in the recent ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in a match against Bangladesh in Pune. He has been recovering and rehabbing to get better and return to the game soon.

Reports had previously stated that the Baroda all-rounder will have a long layoff period and possibly miss the home Afghanistan T20I series and possibly even the IPL 2024 as well. He is set to captain Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2024 after he was traded from Gujarat Titans in a mega deal for Rs 15 crore in the trading window.

After suffering ankle injury in the World Cup, Hardik has been on the sidelines, missing the Australia T20Is and the recent white-ball leg of the South Africa tour as well. India are to play white-ball cricket in January against Afghanistan at home.

Hardik Pandya completely recovered form ankle injury and training for comeback

However, new reports have stated that Hardik Pandya has completely recovered from the injury and is expected to play and captain India in the Afghanistan T20Is and also play in the IPL 2024 edition.

He should “definitely be fit for the IPL, and possibly the Afghanistan T20Is,” sources said.

He has completely recovered from his ankle injury. He has been training every day. Hardik is fit and fine. In fact, he has been working out daily. All the talk about him going on to miss the IPL is just rumor. There are still almost four months left for IPL-2024, so anything, at this moment, is just speculation,” a source said as per Times of India.

Pandya just shared two videos on Instagram, one of which shows him working out in the gym and the other with his son Agastya.

BCCI sources too said, “He should be fit soon and will play in the IPL.”
