Hardik Pandya reveals what he whispered at ball before taking Imam Ul Haq's wicket in IND vs PAK clash
Hardik Pandya picked up 2 wickets against Pakistan in Ahmedabad.
India thrashed Pakistan once again in a World Cup game and got their eighth straight win in ODI World Cup tournaments. Team India’s impressive all-round show against their arch-rivals Pakistan at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad put them at the top of the points table in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. With a splendid batting performance from captain Rohit Sharma (86) and Shreyas Iyer (53), team India defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets.
Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya had a ‘magical’ moment during his bowling. When Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq was looking all set and started to score freely, Hardik Pandya delivered an outside off-stump delivery to infuse a caught-behind. In a viral moment, Hardik Pandya whispered something before getting Imam-ul-Haq's wicket. This became a viral video on social media, and fans claimed a ‘magic’ trick from Indian all-rounder.
Hardik Pandya reveals his magic!
After the game, Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya revealed that he just had a chat with himself before delivering the ball. Pandya said, “On that occasion, I just had a simple chat with myself and basically abused myself (laugh). I was motivating myself to bowl in the right areas and not try to overdo anything.” Imam-ul-Haq was dismissed after scoring 36 runs. Imam had a wonderful start and smashed three boundaries against Mohammed Siraj.
Hardik Pandya drew Imam-ul-Haq forward for a cover drive, but he couldn’t middle the ball properly. The ball moving away got an outside edge of Imam’s bat, and KL Rahul took a screamer behind the wicket. Talking about the game plan, Hardik Pandya revealed, “I think myself and Siraj had a chat that we will be bowling in the right areas and will not look for any extra things other than picking the right lines."
Indian bowling line-up had a magnificent day against Pakistan in Ahmedabad, and everyone apart from Shardul Thakur chipped in with two wickets. Pakistan were bowled out for 191 runs. Babar Azam’s wicket opened the doors for team India, and they struck back to get the last eight wickets in just 36 runs. Team India have landed in Pune for their next game against Bangladesh on October 19.
