Official! Hardik Pandya traded to Mumbai Indians from Gujarat Titans ahead of IPL 2024
Hardik Pandya started his Indian Premier League with Mumbai Indians.
In a historic move in Indian Premier League trading window, Gujarat Titans have traded their skipper Hardik Pandya in an all-cash deal with Mumbai Indians. Five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians have been at the forefront of breaking all the stereotypes in Indian Premier League and this momentous trade will pave the way for historical deals between the franchises in upcoming IPL seasons.
Hardik Pandya will be returning to his old franchise in an all-cash deal of 15 crores. Mumbai needed to release one big buy from their previous two auctions to make way for Pandya and they have traded all-rounder Cameron Green to Royal Challengers Bangalore. RCB had 40 crore rupees in their purse and with Green coming in they have got a good deal in an all-rounder as well as a heavy amount remaining for them.
Hardik Pandya to play for MI
Hardik Pandya began his career with Mumbai Indians and the franchise is looking for Rohit Sharma’s successor. With Jofra Archer released and Cameron Green traded to RCB, Pandya will be playing a crucial role in Mumbai’s camp. Hardik Pandya was also be given the charge in the next 1-2 seasons. Hardik led Gujarat Titans successfully to successive IPL finals and also won the title in IPL 2022 when the franchise made their debut.
Gujarat Titans also wished Hardik Pandya for his upcoming journey with Mumbai Indians. Gujarat Titans tweeted, “Farewell and best wishes on your next journey. Go well, HP!.” Earlier a few media reports stated that Hardik Pandya was miffed with Titans as he was asking for more brand endorsements. Mumbai Indians offered Pandya a great deal before the World Cup 2023 and he decided to switch his side before the upcoming season.
Gujarat Titans have announced their new captain. Shubman Gill will be leading Titans in IPL 2024. This will be the first assignment for Gill as captain. He had a terrific two seasons with Gujarat Titans and also their leading run-scorer in IPL. Hardik Pandya began his career with Mumbai Indians and he got an international call-up after his magnificent performance for MI. This deal will make IPL trading window more interesting in the future.
