Travis Head makes a massive claim after Jonny Bairstow's controversial wicket.

The Australian team is facing a backlash over England wicket-keeper Jonny Bairstow’s run out on the Final day of the Lord’s test. Australian wicket-keeper Alex Carey ran Bairstow out when he left his crease without the umpire calling an over. This dismissal became a huge controversy and divided world cricket over two different opinions.

Now, Australian Middle-order batter Travis Head has come out and accused Jonny Bairstow of trying to dismiss him similarly as Carey did. England fans including MCC members were hostile towards Australian team members. The England crowd chanted ‘Same Old Aussie Cheating’ during the entire final day after Bairstow was given out.

Travis Head accuses Jonny Bairstow of doing the same

Speaking to a podcast Australian middle order batter Travis Head said, “I sort of reminded Jonny Bairstow last week I walked out of the crease at Edgbaston, at the end of the over. And the ball got whipped in, and I quickly whipped my bat back and questioned Jonny, Would you take the stumps? And he said, ‘Bloody oath I would’ and ran off”.

Talking about his exchange with Jonny Bairstow, Left-hander further added, “So I sort of reminded him that remember last week when you said you would do exactly the same thing? Whether he remembered saying that or not, but two days before he also tried to throw Marnus stumps down”. Jonny Bairstow could only score 10 runs in the second innings.

The amount of attention the controversy garnered is big, Prime Ministers of both the countries Australia and England have come out and reacted on the biggest talking things in world cricket. England Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s spokesperson supported Ben Stokes' statement where he said that he would not want to win the game in that manner. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese supported his team and captain Pat Cummins. Australia won the game by 43 runs and took the 2-0 lead in 5 test Ashes series.
