MI bowler Hrithik Shokeen was seen sending off KKR captain Nitish Rana after dismissing the batsman, which turned into an abusive exchange.

It’s a double header Sunday in the IPL 2023, Mumbai Indians in search of their second win this season are taking on Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede Stadium. Both teams are among the most successful franchises in the Indian Premier League. Often we see players taking on each other personally along with their team battle. Mumbai vs Kolkata has always been a high voltage game between the two. In a heat of a moment on Sunday, KKR Captain Nitish Rana lost his cool against Mumbai Indians spinner Hrithik Shokeen.

Small sledging turns into big argument

Mumbai Indians started nicely by dismissing Rahmanullah Gurbaz and N Jagadeeshan in the powerplay. After that, Nitish Rana came in to provide support to Venkatesh Iyer who was single handedly taking on the MI bowlers. Though he could not do much in his inning and got out to Hrithik Shokeen scoring just 5 runs in 10 balls. Shokeen after dismissing Rana said something to the Rana when the batsman was going back to the dugout. Rana, already agitated by his dismissal, gave it back, and then the situation turned tense between the two.

In between the heated argument, MI Captain Suryakumar Yadav and Piyush Chawla came in to defuse the situation between the two players. Shokeen was fired up by the wicket he got and he said a few words to KKR Captain. Nitish Rana tried to hit Shokeen over the top and mistimed his shot which went up in the sky and was then ultimately caught by substitute Ramandeep Singh. Hrithik Shokeen in his 4 over bowled magnificently and picked up 2 KKR wickets. In his 4 overs, Shokeen conceded 34 runs.

Mumbai Indians are looking for their second win in the IPL 2023. They won their previous game against Delhi Capitals. Their full-time Captain Rohit Sharma is not playing in the starting XI due to a stomach bug. Arjun Tendulkar is making his debut in the IPL. He started nicely in his first over of the game.
