5. Shakib Al Hasan (BAN) – 21 wickets
Veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is the only Bangladesh bowler to feature in the top five highest wicket-takers list in the IND vs BAN tests.
Shakib, who is Bangladesh’s highest wicket-taker in tests, has played eight matches against the Indian cricket team in the longest format, in which the all-rounder scalped 21 wickets at a bowling average of 37.95. He will have a chance to add more wickets to his tally during the upcoming two-match test series against India in September-October 2024.
4. Umesh Yadav (IND) – 22 wickets
Right-arm speedster Umesh Yadav has played six test matches against the Bangladesh cricket team. In those, the veteran pacer took 22 wickets at a bowling average of 21.04, including one five-wicket haul.
3. Ravichandran Ashwin (IND) – 23 wickets
Indian cricket team senior off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has been a huge match-winner, especially in Asian conditions, for over a decade. The veteran has played six tests against Bangladesh and dismissed 23 batters at a bowling average of 26.78, with one five-for.
2. Ishant Sharma (IND) – 25 wickets
Veteran Indian pacer Ishant Sharma has taken 25 wickets in seven test matches against the Bangladesh cricket team. He managed a bowling average of 20.88, including one fifer, against Bangladesh.
1. Zaheer Khan (IND) – 31 wickets
Former India pacer Zaheer Khan is the only bowler to take 30 or more wickets in the India vs Bangladesh tests so far. The great left-arm seamer scalped 31 wickets in seven tests at a bowling average of 24.25, including two five-wicket hauls and one ten-wicket match haul, against Bangladesh.
