ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 Points Table after 1st Test, Australia vs West Indies 2024

Australia are leading the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 Points Table.

Australian bowling attack outclassed inexperienced West Indian batting line-up in the first test played at Adelaide Oval in Adelaide. Australia defeated West Indies by 10 wickets in the first test match and took a 1-0 lead in the two-match test series. Josh Hazlewood picked up five wickets in the second innings to bundle out West Indian side on just 120 runs. Australia required only 26 runs to win the first test.

Josh Hazlewood had a terrific game in Adelaide and finished the game with nine wickets. He picked up four wickets in the first innings and completed his 250th test wicket. Australian middle-order batter Travis Head (119) smashed a century in the first innings to provide Australia crucial 95 runs lead. West Indian batters struggled against Australian pace attack throughout the game and managed to scored only 308 runs in entire game.

Defending champions Australia are at the top of the table with 61.11 PCT points. This was Australia’s fourth consecutive test win, they recently whitewashed Pakistan in the three-match test series. Australia cricket team now have 66 overall points with six wins in nine test matches.

India slipped down to the second place in the points table after Australia’s dominant run against West Indies and Pakistan in last one month. India have 54.11 PCT points in four test matches they played so far in this season. India lost one and won one test against South Africa recently. India have 26 overall points. India will be playing against England in their next assignment in ICC WTC 2023-25 cycle.

South Africa, New Zealand and Bangladesh have 50 PCT points each and are placed third, fourth and fifth respectively, Pakistan remains sixth in the table after a poor show against Australia in the three-match test series. Pakistan have 36.66 PCT points. England are placed seventh in the points table with 15 PCT points, West Indies placed eighth in the table with 11.11 PCT points. Sri Lanka have not opened their account yet.
