The upcoming IND vs BAN test series will be played in Chennai and Kanpur.
India and Bangladesh have played just 13 test matches till now. India have dominated the neighboring country by winning 11 tests, while two tests were drawn. Bangladesh have never emerged victorious against the Asian giants in the longest format.
Bangladesh have toured India twice so far to play test cricket (2016-17 and 2019-20). The visitors suffered crushing defeat at the hands of the Indian cricket team on both those tours.
The upcoming two-match test series between the two nations will mark the third instance of Bangladesh touring India for a test series. The opening fixture will be played in Chennai from September 19. The second test will be hosted in Kanpur from September 27. This series is part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 cycle.
In the upcoming two-match test series, three Indian cricketers might play their last test against Bangladesh. With the Indian team going through a transition period, these three cricketers might not get a chance the next time India meet Bangladesh in test cricket, which is not for another two years at least.
IND vs BAN: 3 Indian players who might play their last test series against Bangladesh
1. Rohit Sharma

The upcoming IND vs BAN test series might be the last test series against Bangladesh for the Indian test and ODI captain Rohit Sharma. Rohit, who is currently aged 37, might not feature in the next IND vs BAN test series, as they don’t meet again in the longest format until at least 2026, when Rohit will be 39. Modern-day cricketers rarely survive in test cricket till the age of 39.
2. Virat Kohli

Veteran cricketer Virat Kohli has been the backbone of the Indian team batting line-up for more than a decade across the three formats. However, Kohli could be seen playing his last test series against Bangladesh in the upcoming series.
Although Kohli is 35 years old, the next test series between the two sides will not take place for another two years at least. Kohli will be 37 years old by then. He’s already not at his best in test cricket and it’s uncertain whether he would be able to keep his form for two more years.
3. Ravichandran Ashwin

Senior-off spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is one of India’s greatest match-winners in test cricket, especially in Asian conditions. Over the past 13 years, Ashwin has produced numerous match-winning performances in test cricket. However, Ashwin might play his last test series against Bangladesh in the upcoming two-match series.
Currently aged 37, Ashwin might not be around when India and Bangladesh play their next test series.
