Captain Rohit Sharma credited youngsters for a dominant win over England in the second test.

Ace Indian pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah and opener Yashasvi Jaiswal’s match-defining performance led India to a magnificent win over England in the second test at the Dr. YSR ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. Bumrah picked up nine wickets in the game and Jaiswal scored his first-ever double ton in his test career. Jaiswal’s knock was the big difference between the two sides in the game.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma credited youngsters for a dominant win over England. India defeated England by 106 runs. England won the first test by a close margin of 28 runs in Hyderabad. The five-match series is now equal with a scoreline of 1-1 with three more games to go. Rohit believes that the next three games will not be easy for both sides.

Rohit praises Bumrah and Jaiswal

Indian captain Rohit Sharma praised Jasprit Bumrah for a fantastic spell in the first innings (6/45) and said that bowlers stepped up to win the game. Rohit said, “Bumrah is a champion player for us. When you win a game like that, you have to look at the overall performance as well. We were good with the bat. You know winning a Test in these conditions is not easy. Wanted our bowlers to step up and they did that.”

Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scored his first ever double ton and contributed 209 runs to India’s first innings score of 396. Rohit was happy with Jaiswal’s performance and said, “He looks like a good player, understands his game really well. Long way to go for him, has got a lot to offer for our team. Hope he stays humble..” Jaiswal smacked 7 sixes and 19 fours in his innings of 209 runs.

Even if India are back to winning ways, Indian captain Rohit Sharma still believes England will be a huge challenge for them in the remaining three games. Rohit said that England have been playing good cricket and he knows that this series will not be easy. The third test match will be played at Saurashtra Cricket Stadium in Rajkot. The third test will start on 15th February.
