BCCI announce Indian Women’s squads for ODIs and T20Is against Australia; four uncapped players named in ODI squad
Indian women will play 3 ODIs in Mumbai and 3 T20Is against Australia.
BCCI, on Monday, December 25, 2023, announced India Women’s squads for the upcoming three-match ODI and 3-match T20I series against Australia at home. India have already registered a historic first-ever test win over Australia at Wankhede Stadium.
They will face Australia in three ODIs, on December 28, December 30, and January 2 (all at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium), before the three T20Is will be played in Navi Mumbai on January 5, 7, and 9.
For the three T20Is against Australia early next month, India named an unchanged squad from the one that lost 2-1 to England at home earlier this month.
However, four uncapped players received maiden India call-ups for ODI series as selectors revamped the 50-over team, from the one which played against Bangladesh some time back.
Saika Ishaque, Shreyanka Patil, Mannat Kashyap and Titas Sadhu receive maiden India ODI call-ups
Saika Ishaque, Shreyanka Patil, Mannat Kashyap, and Titas Sadhu have been called up for their first ODI against Australia, which begins on December 28 in Mumbai. Renuka Singh and Richa Ghosh also returned to the ODI squad after missing the July tour to Bangladesh.
Priya Punia, Devika Vaidya, Anjali Sarvani, B Anusha, Meghna Singh, Rashi Kanojiya, and Monica Patel were among those left out of the ODI team. Regulars like captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Sneh Rana, Pooja Vastrakar, and others are named in both squads.
