Apollo Tyres will replace Dream11 as Indian Cricket Team’s lead sponsor.
Apollo Tyres was announced as the Indian Cricket Team’s new lead sponsor by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on September 16, 2025. The BCCI’s agreement with online gaming company Dream11 was terminated a few days after the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill was passed, leaving the Indian women’s team playing Australia in a white-ball series at home and the Indian men’s team without a sponsor in the ongoing Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Following Dream11’s withdrawal due to the ‘Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act 2025,’ which stipulates that “no person shall offer, aid, abet, induce, indulge, or engage in offering online money gaming services nor shall be involved in any advertisement which directly or indirectly promotes any person to play any online money game,” the BCCI issued a bid invitation for the Indian team’s jersey sponsorship rights on September 2.
Because the government forbids businesses involved in cryptocurrency and real money gaming, the Indian board excluded them from the process. Manufacturers of sportswear and athleisure, banking, insurance, mixer grinders, fans, non-alcoholic cold beverages, and safety locks were also excluded.
The announcement marked Apollo Tyres’ first-ever foray into Indian cricket.
Here is how much BCCI will earn per match from Apollo Tyres sponsorship
Apollo Tyres and BCCI signed a contract till March 2028, spanning two and a half years. The agreement states that the Indian men’s and women’s national teams’ shirts in all formats will bear the Apollo Tyres emblem.
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said, “The arrival of Apollo Tyres as our new sponsor is a testament to the hard work and consistent performance of our teams. We are excited about this being Apollo’s first major sponsorship in Indian cricket, which speaks volumes about the sport’s unparalleled reach and influence. This is more than a commercial agreement; it’s a partnership between two institutions that have earned the trust and respect of millions.”
While the BCCI has not revealed the amount of the deal, multiple reports have stated that the INR 579 crores deal that Apollo Tyres signed was much more than the INR 358 crore deal that Dream11 had secured for the same period of time. 21 ICC games and 121 bilateral games are covered by the agreement.
The arrangement amounts to approximately INR 4.77 crore for each game, although there may be some fluctuations because of the value difference between bilateral and ICC matches. According to Cricbuzz, the BCCI established a base fee of INR 3.5 crore for bilateral games and INR 1.5 crore for World Cup matches.
Apollo Tyres will make its international debut with the home test series against the West Indies, which begins on October 2. The new sponsor’s logo will be seen during India A’s three-match ODI series against Australia A in Kanpur.
