IPL 2024: List of players released, retained by RR ahead of auction, remaining purse details

Rajasthan Royals have released a total of 9 players ahead of the IPL 2024 auction.

The champions of the inaugural Indian Premier League season, Rajasthan Royals, are empty-handed in the league after their maiden glory. Buzzing with great talent in the camp, Rajasthan Royals will once again enter the next season as one of the favorites in the league. Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Prasidh Krishna, Trent Boult, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravi Ashwin, and Shimron Hetmyer have transformed Rajasthan into a formidable unit with a great deal of balance in the team. RR just needs to work on their consistency to taste success.

The same inconsistency caused them to miss out on the IPL 2023 playoffs. Rajasthan Royals, after having an outstanding beginning and winning 3 out of their first 4 games, lost 5 of their next 6 games. This caused a major disruption in their campaign, and RR failed to qualify for the IPL 2023 playoffs. Rajasthan’s chances were dependent upon Sunrisers Hyderabad, but they were outclassed by Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium, and Cameron Green led his side to the playoffs, leaving RCB and RR behind. RR finished 5th with 14 points in 14 games.

Rajasthan Royals have a great bunch of talented players who can make a dominating T20 side to play in any league. The likes of Jos Buttler, and Yashasvi Jaiswal represent a fearless approach at the top, and then comes RR’s formidable middle-order batting consisting of Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmyer. Rajasthan Royals will be looking to secure a great deal on all-rounders and also on a foreign-pace bowling option in the upcoming IPL mini-auction 2024 in Dubai. RR will also be looking to build a decent bench on 19th December.
