Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Washington Sundar for 48 runs in the Eliminator of IPL 2025.
Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Titans (GT) locked horns in the Eliminator clash of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Friday, May 30. The encounter took place at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh.
MI skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to bat first in the match. With the help of Rohit Sharma’s 81 runs and Jonny Bairstow’s 47 runs, MI piled up a gigantic total of 228/5 in the first innings. GT bowlers completely failed to halt MI batters as they hit them all over the park.
During the chase, the Titans lost opener Shubman Gill cheaply for 1 run. Kusal Mendis lost his wicket for 20 runs in the seventh over. However, Sai Sudharsan and Washington Sundar made a wonderful partnership of 84 runs to keep the winning hopes alive for GT.

MI bowlers completely failed to break the partnership of Sudharsan and Sundar. Hence, MI called in their senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah in the 14th over to provide a breakthrough. Bumrah executed the job well and dismissed Sundar with a brilliant yorker.
Sundar got out for 48 runs off 24 balls in the match with five boundaries and three sixes. Soon, Sudharsan also got out for 80 runs in the 16th over. Meanwhile, GT reached 193/4 till the 18th over.
Meanwhile, the winner of the MI vs GT clash will face Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Qualifier 2. The loser of the Eliminator will be eliminated from IPL 2025. On Thursday, Shreyas Iyer-led PBKS lost to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by eight wickets in the Qualifier 1 match.
However, PBKS can still reach the final by winning the Qualifier 2 match, which will be played on June 1 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. RCB have already booked a berth in the final.
