MS Dhoni won Player of the Match award in CSK’s win over LSG.

MS Dhoni played a wonderful knock to drive his team Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to a victory against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Monday, April 14. The CSK skipper scored unbeaten 26 runs off 11 deliveries to drive his team to the second victory of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

CSK chased down the target of 168 runs in the 20th over, defeating Rishabh Pant-led LSG by five wickets. The wicket-keeper batter also won Player of the Match (POTM) award for his brilliant knock.

Dhoni took over as the Super Kings’ captain after Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out of the tournament with elbow fracture. Notably, CSK had lost five games in a row ahead of the LSG clash.

Following CSK’s win over LSG in Lucknow on Monday, a video has gone viral on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) where the CSK skipper was seen limping. The video claims to be of Monday, following CSK’s victory over LSG. In the video, Dhoni was seen struggling while walking behind his teammate Ravindra Jadeja. Have a look at the video below.

Notably, Dhoni was also seen limping on the pitch while batting during LSG vs CSK clash. Later, he also struggled to walk when he arrived to take the POTM award during the post-match presentation. The wicket-keeper batter underwent a knee surgery post the IPL 2023 edition, where CSK won the title by defeating Gujarat Titans (GT) in the final.

He has shown a decent form in the ongoing tournament, smacking 130 runs across seven innings at a strike rate of 158.53. Out of seven innings, he remained not out in four games.

Meanwhile, the Men in Yellow are positioned 10th in IPL 2025 points table with four points. The Super Kings have won only two games out of seven and lost five. They will next clash with Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday, April 20.
