Irfan Pathan’s tweet is going viral and fans have linked it with Hardik Pandya’s move to MI from GT.

In a historic trade deal of the Indian Premier League, Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya has joined Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians traded Cameron Green to Royal Challengers Bangalore to make way and funds available for Hardik Pandya. While a few are calling this historic and a trendsetter, few are questioning the loyalty of a member involved in the decision making group. Irfan Pathan’s tweet has gone viral as the fans are indirectly linking this with Hardik’s move.

Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan posted a tweet on 25th November when the reports of Hardik Pandya switching back to his old franchise came. Pathan tweeted, “Use and throw has been the real characteristic since the start….” Fans have connected this tweet with Hardik’s move and felt Irfan Pathan is indirectly taking a dig at all-rounder Hardik Pandya for not being loyal to one franchise. Irfan Pathan and Hardik Pandya also share a bit of history with each other from Baroda Cricket.

History between Pandya’s and Pathan

Irfan Pathan was the first one to call for inquiry over the feud between Hardik’s elder brother Krunal Pandya and Deepak Hooda. All-rounder Deepak Hooda stormed out of the Baroda camp in 2021 from the bio-bubble restrictions claiming misbehavior from captain Krunal Pandya. Irfan Pathan asked Baroda Cricket Board (BCB) to enquire about the matter, in the meanwhile Deepak Hooda left Baroda team and joined Rajasthan in domestic setup.

Irfan Pathan from there is seen taking an indirect dig at Pandya brothers on social media platform. Thus the fans have linked Irfan Pathan’s tweet to Hardik’s trade deal from Gujarat Titans to Mumbai Indians. Five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians have done an all-cash deal with Gujarat Titans to bring in Hardik Pandya alongside in the camp. Mumbai Indians will be paying 15 crore rupees as Pandya’s salary and undisclosed transfer fee to Gujarat Titans.

Hardik Pandya led Gujarat Titans successfully in the previous two seasons. Gujarat Titans won their maiden title in their debut season in the IPL 2022 after defeating Rajasthan Royals in the final. Later on in 2023, Titans once again played in the final of the league but they failed to lift the cup as Chennai Super Kings won the game in a fantastic chase. Shubman Gill will be leading the Gujarat Titans squad in the upcoming IPL 2024 season.
