All-rounder Jason Holder was released by Rajasthan Royals last month.

West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder will probably fetch a huge amount of money in the upcoming IPL 2024 auction in Dubai. Indian Premier League mini-auction is scheduled to take place on 19th December. For the first time in history, an IPL Auction will be held outside India. Jason Holder was part of the Rajasthan Royals in the previous season in 2023 and the franchise decided to release the all-rounder on 26th November.

Jason Holder has revealed his interest to join the Indian Premier League and play for either Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) or Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the cash-rich league. Holder revealed that he had a nice time along with Sunrisers and Chennai in his IPL career. Holder was part of CSK in IPL 2013 and for Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2014, 2020 and 2021.

Jason Holder prefers to join CSK or SRH

Former West Indies skipper said, “I have had a good time with Sunrisers (Hyderabad) and Chennai (Super Kings) as well. One of those two teams would be nice to go back to but it is not in my hands.” Jason Holder has played 46 IPL games in his career and scored 259 runs. He also took 53 wickets in his career. So far Holder has represented 5 different IPL teams. He has played for Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings, Lucknow Super Giants and Rajasthan Royals.

Jason Holder has also appreciated the scheduling of IPL just before the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in West Indies and the USA. Holder backed the scheduling and said, “The T20 cricket you play leading up to a World Cup is always beneficial. The IPL being played before the T20 World Cup would help. It will help the players prepare mentally as well.” The T20 World Cup 2024 will begin just after the IPL 2024 season.

The upcoming T20 World Cup will be jointly hosted by the West Indies and the USA in June 2024. A total of 20 teams will take part in the competition. For the first time in the history of the game, 20 teams will take part in an ICC event. Namibia and Uganda have become the recent entries through regional qualifiers played last week. England are currently the title holders of the ICC T20 World Cup, the defeated Pakistan final of 2022 edition.
