India's tour of West Indies 2023
Kuldeep Yadav's form a huge advantage for India going into the World Cup: Hanuma Vihari

Kuldeep Yadav won "Player of the match" award for his excellent bowling spell of 4/6 against West Indies in the first ODI.
Hanuma Vihari reasoned how left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav managed to resurrect his international cricket career for India by adding new variations and skills to his art of bowling. This came after the UP cricketer won the Player of the Match in the first ODI against West Indies in Bridgetown.
After being sent to bat first by India captain Rohit Sharma, West Indies crumbled to 114 in 23 overs with only captain Shai Hope making 43 runs. For India, Kuldeep Yadav (4/6 in three overs) and Ravindra Jadeja (3/37) put up impressive performances.
In reply, Ishan Kishan hammered a quick 52 as India romped home with 5 wickets in hand in 22.5 overs and went 1-0 up in the three-match series.
Kuldeep was named Player of the Match for his performance.
Speaking about Yadav’s performance, JioCinema expert Hanuma Vihari, said: “He has worked a lot on his bowling. When he began playing international cricket, initially, he was a lot slower through the air. He didn’t have that zip. He has worked on his bowling with the bowling coach and it has helped him a lot.
You can see the result with his action in white ball cricket. As Abhinav (Mukund) mentioned, in IPL we have seen him succeeding in the last couple of years because he has got that pace in his bowling which comes down to his bowling run-up in which he has done a good job.”
The left-arm spinner, who made his India debut in 2017, has played 82 ODIs so far and picked 138 wickets with the best of 6/25. He remains the only Indian bowler with two hat-tricks in ODI cricket.
Hanuma Vihari shares how Kuldeep Yadav will be advantageous for India in World Cup
Kuldeep Yadav had gone off the radar some time back as he struggled with form and confidence and also suffered from a knee injury. He finally got his form back in IPL 2022 and since then he hasn’t looked back.
He has recently had done well, with 19 wickets from 9 ODIs this year and Hanuma Vihari feels that his form will be of huge advantage to the Indian team going into the World Cup.
“Kuldeep Yadav being in form is a big advantage for Team India going into the World Cup. As Abhinav mentioned, for foreign batters, especially the left-hand batters, it will be a huge task facing him,” Vihari said.
