Mumbai Indians post a cryptic message with Jasprit Bumrah's image ahead of IPL 2024
There were rumours of Jasprit Bumrah being unhappy with Mumbai Indians trading in Hardik Pandya.
After Hardik Pandya entered Mumbai Indians camp from Gujarat Titans, there were speculations of Jasprit Bumrah leaving Mumbai Indians due to insecurities. Bumrah was seen as the possible successor of Rohit Sharma as MI captain. But with Hardik Pandya back into the camp, he looks like a definite choice as Rohit Sharma’s successor in leadership. Pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah also posted a cryptic post on his social media account.
Five-time IPL title winners Mumbai Indians ‘ pacer Jasprit Bumrah posted an Instagram story with the message, “Silence is sometimes the best answer.” Now, Mumbai Indians have also posted a similar message through their social media handles and posted a cryptic post. Mumbai Indians tweeted Jasprit Bumrah’s picture with similar text. Fans are wondering about where it was directed, as the speculations grew bigger than expected.
Indian Premier League trading window will close on December 12th, just a week before the auction on December 19th in Dubai. The trading window will resume after the auction. It is still not clear whether Jasprit Bumrah will stay with Mumbai Indians or will leave the franchise that shaped his career. Bumrah started his IPL career with Mumbai Indians in 2013 IPL and picked up Virat Kohli as his maiden IPL wicket.
Reply to Gujarat Titans?
A few of the fans have also connected Mumbai Indians’ cryptic post to a statement given by Gujarat Titans’ COO. Gujarat Titans COO indirectly accused Mumbai Indians of contacting Hardik Pandya directly for the trade breaching the protocol. He revealed that not only Hardik Pandya but also Mohammed Shami were approached by the franchise, but Shami decided to stay with Titans while Hardik Pandya moved to Mumbai Indians.
“Every franchise has the right to go for top players. The wrong part is that if an IPL franchise directly approaches a player. The method is wrong and the GT team management is not happy with the approach. The BCCI’s rule regarding player trade-odds, how the expression of interest cane be made to BCCI and then they will inform us. Then the franchise decides. This IPL team approached our coaching staff which is wrong. If they wanted the transfer, they could have talked to us upfront. We got to know about the approach later on.” told GT COO Colonel Arvinder Singh to News18
Earlier It was reported that Jasprit Bumrah is feeling insecure about Hardik Pandya’s trade and his entry into Mumbai Indians camp. Jasprit Bumrah was retained by Mumbai Indians on November 26th. Bumrah has played 120 games for Mumbai. He missed the entire season of IPL 2023 due to a back injury. Bumrah has picked up 145 wickets so far in the league.
