Rahul Dravid likely to join LSG as mentor if not convinced by BCCI to extend coaching tenure - Reports

Lucknow Super Giants and Rajasthan Royals are in talks with Rahul Dravid.
Rahul Dravid’s tenure has ended as Indian head coach and he is reportedly in talks with Lucknow Super Giants and Rajasthan Royals for his next work assignment. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Rahul Dravid will discuss the future. If Rahul Dravid opts out of the extension, then he will surely join one, LSG or RR as a mentor. Rahul was involved with IPL franchises before taking up the role in Indian Cricket.
Likely, Rahul Dravid will not be extending his tenure as Indian head coach as he was unwilling in the first place when Ravi Shastri left the job. Rahul was convinced by BCCI president Sourav Ganguly to join Indian side under a new captain Rohit Sharma. Dravid wants spend time with his family in Bengaluru. He also took breaks during his tenure as head coach and VVS Laxman replaced him on those occasions.
Lucknow Super Giants have parted ways with Gautam Gambhir as he has made a move to Kolkata Knight Riders. Gambhir has joined Kolkata Knight Riders as a mentor. Andy Flower also left Lucknow camp forcing the franchise to look for new names. Rahul Dravid will be a great value addition to Lucknow as the head of their support staff. They have qualified for the playoffs each season they played but couldn’t win the eliminator.
Rahul Dravid in talks with IPL franchises
Rahul Dravid’s old franchise Rajasthan Royals are also in talks with him. Rahul was associated with Rajasthan Royals first as a player and captain till 2013 and then joined RR’s support staff as head coach for 2014 and 2015 seasons. Rajasthan are also willing to add Rahul back to their hut. Rajasthan had a decent campaign under Rahul Dravid, He is credited for bringing out players like Sanju Samson who is currently leading RR squad.
VVS Laxman is the front-runner to replace Rahul Dravid as head coach of India. If Rahul opts out of Indian team role, the current NCA head will be replacing him and BCCI will seek new applications for NCA head. Team India under Rahul Dravid had a successful campaign and went on to become the number one team in the world. Team India under Rahul Dravid failed to win an ICC title and lost the T20 World Cup, WTC, and World Cup in knockouts.
