Rashid Khan is playing his 100th ODI match for Afghanistan against Sri Lanka in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

Rashid Khan made a huge impact in his 100th ODI for Afghanistan, which is being played in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 against Sri Lanka. This is the 30th CWC 2023 match and is being played in Pune’s MCA Stadium on October 30, 2023.

Sri Lanka were put into bat first after Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi won the toss. Noor Ahmad made way for Fazalhaq Farooqi, while Rashid Khan appeared in his 100th ODI. On the other hand, Dushmantha Chameera and Dimuth Karunaratne came in for Lahiru Kumara and Kusal Perera.

Pathum Nissanka did well at the start, scoring 46 runs in 60 balls. Kusal Mendis scored 39, and Sadeera Samarawickrama made 36 runs as Afghanistan bowlers made inroads at regular intervals.

Much was expected from Charith Asalanka and Dhananjaya de Silva, and the duo started well. Asalanka made 22, while De Silva made 14 runs before being dismissed.

Dhananjaya de Silva gets his stumps rattled by Rashid Khan

In the 36th over of the match, which was bowled by Rashid Khan, the leg spinner celebrated his 100th ODI with a perfect delivery to Sri Lankan batter. It was the last ball of the 36th over, and Rashid had set up Silva very well.

He then bowled a fullish delivery on the off-stump and enticed Dhananjaya to drive the ball. As the batter tried to play a cover drive, the ball pitched on the off-stump, zipped back into the batter, and rattled the stumps.

Rashid had bowled the perfect googly to Dhananjaya, and Sri Lankan batter got bamboozled by the world-class bowler.
