Ravi Ashwin slams twitter user for linking fake news to his name; Quashes rumours of Sanju Samson getting traded to CSK ahead of IPL 2024

Ravi Ashwin is part of the Rajasthan Royals camp under the captaincy of Sanju Samson.

Veteran Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has quashed rumours regarding Sanju Samson being approached by Chennai Super Kings as a captain. Taking to Twitter, Ashwin flagged off ‘fake news’ under a tweet claiming Ashwin revealed big news regarding CSK looking for MS Dhoni’s successor after IPL 2024 and they approached Rajasthan Royals’ skipper Sanju Samson for the job but the RR captain denied the offer. 

The tweet was put out on Sanju Samson from a twitter handle @CricketwithRosh. Ravichandran Ashwin is also part of the Rajasthan Royals camp. Ashwin replied to the tweet spreading fake news regarding Sanju’s trade offer saying, “Fake news! Don’t lie quoting me.” The IPL trading window is on till 12th December as the IPL 2024 auction is scheduled to take place in Dubai on 19th November. The IPL trading window will again open after the auction. 

Sanju not moving to CSK!

Earlier a fan tweeted, “Ashwin on his YouTube channel – “Sanju Samson was approached by CSK as a captain which was nearly finalised. But it didn’t go through and Sanju rejected their offer. There’s a definite possibility in the future.” Ashwin has been sharing his views on everything related to the game through his YouTube channel and he has always been involved in explaining the game to the viewers through his channel.

Ravichandran Ashwin has been retained by Rajasthan Royals. Ashwin will be representing RR for the third consecutive year. Rajasthan Royals spent just 5 crores rupees to bring in Ravichandran Ashwin in their camp. Ashwin has been doing a magnificent job along with leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal in for RR. The Royals qualified for the IPL 2022 final while they missed the playoff qualification narrowly in the IPL 2023. 

There are uncertainties over MS Dhoni’s IPL future. Whether Dhoni will be part of the full IPL 2024 or he will just play the first few games and say goodbye is still unclear. CSK need one formidable option as a leader to succeed one of the finest leaders in the league. CSK tried with Ravindra Jadeja but failed, and brought in Stokes but he has been released now and CSK fans are batting for opener Ruturaj Gaikwad as possible skipper of CSK after Dhoni.
