Rohit Sharma is the highest run scorer for India in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

Team India have gotten off to a flying start to the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 and are sitting at the top of the points table. They have registered comprehensive wins over Australia, Afghanistan and Pakistan. With six points on the board, India are just a few wins away from a place in the semi-final. But the competition is going to be tough, with smaller teams have beaten stronger ones in the last few matches.

India will now lock horns with Bangladesh in their next game, which will be played on October 19 (Thursday) at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. They will enter the game as favorites and will look to add another two points to their tally. India have reached Pune and have started practice sessions ahead of the clash.

The Indian captain Rohit Sharma has been in superb form this tournament and is among the highest run scorers. He has scored 217 runs in three innings with one hundred and one half-century. He has already broken a couple of records so far, and all eyes will be on him in the IND vs BAN clash on Thursday. However, ahead of the game, Rohit Sharma appeared in a totally different role.

He was seen doing bowling practice at the nets, which caught the attention of the fans. At the nets, he was seen bowling to Ravindra Jadeja. Rohit used to bowl some overs of off-spin in the early days of his career and even had an IPL hat-trick to his name in 2009 for the Deccan Chargers. The video of Rohit Sharma bowling in nets was shared by the BCCI on their official social media handle.

India don't have the option of a part-time spinner, as none of the top six batters can bowl in a match. That has become a problem for the team. And Rohit, who used to be a decent spinner, had stopped bowling due to an injury scare. And if he can bowl some overs in the middle, that will be a luxury for India on the pitches that help spinners. Batters like Glenn Maxwell, Aiden Markram, Glenn Philips, and Iftikhar Ahmed have had success bowling spin in this tournament so far.
