What will be the age of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and other senior Indian cricketers during ICC Cricket World Cup 2027?

Rohit Sharma has ruled out ODI retirement after ICC Champions Trophy 2027 triumph.
India defeated New Zealand to lift the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 title in Dubai on March 9. The Indian team emerged as the strongest in the competition, winning all their matches in the tournament.
The victory, however, was followed by speculation across various social media platforms whether it was the last time players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja took the field for India in ODI cricket.
Indian captain Rohit was quick to clear the air in the post-match press conference, stating that he is not retiring from the format and is taking one match at a time. Jadeja also took it to social media platform Instagram to rubbish rumours of him retiring from the format.
Kohli, on the other hand, has not made any statement regarding his retirement and looks like he is going on to carry playing ODI and test cricket. Notably, Kohli retired from T20Is after India won the Men’s T20 World Cup in 2024.
The next big ODI cricketing event will be the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2027, which will be played across South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia in the month of October and November.
India suffered a heartbreak in the 2023 World Cup, losing to Australia in the final in Ahmedabad. Despite the defeat, the team retained its strong core for the Champions Trophy 2025 and was rewarded with its seventh ICC title in history.
Given the next ICC Cricket World Cup is still two and half years away, most of the senior Indian cricketers might be close to retirement and not be at their best during the event.
On that note, let’s take a look at what will be the age of senior Indian cricketers during next ODI World Cup.
