Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul to undergo Yo-Yo test at BCCI's COE on this date - Reports

Rohit Sharma will next play for India in October during ODI series against Australia.

India ODI skipper Rohit Sharma and batter KL Rahul will undergo fitness tests, including the yo-yo tests, according to reports by Revsportz. Both players will visit the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Centre of Excellence (COE) in Bengaluru for their fitness tests on August 30 and 31. The reports did not reveal whether Virat Kohli will also participate in the fitness tests or not.

Rohit last played for India during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, where he led the team to the title. The right-handed batsman last played competitive cricket during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Playing 15 games for the Mumbai Indians (MI), Rohit gave a decent show by scoring 418 runs at a strike rate of 149.28 with four fifties.

Sharma and Kohli, who only play in the 50-over format now, were going to be part of the Bangladesh ODI series in August. However, the white-ball tour was postponed to next year. The duo will be next seen in the ODI series against Australia in October Down Under.

Rohit is the current skipper of India in ODIs and is expected to lead the team in the series against Australia in October. During India’s tour of Australia 2025, the Men in Blue will clash in three ODIs and five T20Is.

The three ODI games will be played on October 19, 23, and 25. The opening game will be played at Perth Stadium, Perth. The venues for the second and third encounters are Adelaide Oval, Adelaide and Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney, respectively.

Meanwhile, India will be busy with the Asia Cup 2025 in September. The tournament will be played from September 9 to 28 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, are part of Group A in the tournament alongside Pakistan, UAE, and Oman.

The Men in Blue are also the defending champions of the tournament, which will be played in T20 format this time.
