Pragyan Ojha and RP Singh were among the four candidates interviewed by CAC for the men’s selectors post.

The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been putting in the hard yards to find the selectors for the Ajit Agarkar’s committee. On Thursday, the CAC interviewed 15 candidates for seven posts combined in the national senior men’s, senior women’s and junior men’s selection committees.

As per a report in The Hindu, it is learned that former Indian batters Ashok Malhotra and Jatin Paranjape, who are in the CAC, interviewed four candidates for the men’s selectors post. 10 gave the interview for the senior women’s and one candidate was for the junior selectors.

The interviews took place through a video conferencing facility. This comes after the BCCI recently invited applications for two, four and one posts in the senior men’s, senior women’s and junior men’s categories, respectively.

The report further confirmed that among the four candidates for men’s selectors, RP. Singh, Pragyan Ojha and Amay Khurasiya were interviewed. It is learned that Singh and Ojha are set to get the nod ahead and will replace S. Sharath and Subroto Banerjee in the role.

The reports also added that S. Sharath was interviewed for the junior selector’s post. If the reports are to be believed then he will replace Thilak Naidu as the chair of the panel ahead of next year’s Under-19 World Cup.

Sulakshana Naik along with Jaya Sharma, Amita Sharma, Sravanthi Naidu, Smita Singh, Anagha Deshpande and Diana David were interviewed for the women’s selection post. The CAC will soon be sending the report to the BCCI officials, who will take the final decision.
