Asia Cup 2025: "We are good enough to beat any team"- Salman Agha fires warning to India ahead of blockbuster clash

Salman Agha-led Pakistan defeated Oman in their opening game of Asia Cup 2025.

Pakistan skipper Salman Agha has sent a strong message to India ahead of their clash in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025. He said that his team is good enough to defeat any side in the tournament.

Agha’s comments arrived after Pakistan crushed Oman in their opening game of the tournament on Friday, September 12. The Men in Green clinched a massive 93-run victory against Oman at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. After opting to bat first, they posted 160/7 in the first innings with a half-century (66) by Mohammad Haris and a crucial unbeaten 23* by Fakhar Zaman and 19 by Mohammad Nawaz.

Later, the Men in Green bundled out Oman for just 67 runs with a brilliant bowling effort. Saim Ayub, Sufiyan Muqeem, and Faheem Ashraf clinched two wickets each, while Shaheen Afridi, Abrar Ahmed, and Mohammad Nawaz bagged one scalp each.

During the post-match presentation, Pakistan captain Salman Agha said that they have a powerful squad capable of beating any team in the tournament.

“I think we have been playing really good cricket in the past 2 or 3 months. I’ve been saying that again and again. We just won a tri-nation series and we won here very comprehensively,” he said.

“So we just need to play a good cricket, and I if we execute our plan for a longer period, I think we’re a good enough team to beat any team,” he added.

Meanwhile, the India vs Pakistan clash will be played on September 14 (Sunday) in Dubai. Both teams are part of Group A in the tournament, alongside Oman and the UAE.

India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, overpowered the UAE by nine wickets in their opening game of the tournament. Bowling out the UAE for just 57 runs in the first innings, the Men in Blue chased down the target in record 4.3 overs, registering their biggest victory in terms of balls remaining.
