A total of 72 players were bought collectively by all 10 franchises in the IPL 2024 auction.

The IPL 2024 auction witnessed a few records broken with two Australian teammates getting almost half of the total purse of a franchise. Left-armer Mitchell Starc became the most expensive buy in the Indian Premier League history. Kolkata Knight Riders spent a huge 24.75 Crore INR on Starc. His Australian teammate and skipper Pat Cummins also crossed the 20 Crore INR mark as Sunrisers Hyderabad placed the highest bid on the player.

A total of 333 players were picked to go under the hammer. 72 players were sold while the rest remained unsold. There were a few surprising picks as well in the league.
