New Zealand opener Martin Guptill is known for playing big shots in white-ball cricket. He is the fifth-leading six-hitter in international cricket with 383 sixes in his career. Guptill has 23 sixes in test cricket, 187 in ODIs, and 173 in T20I cricket. Guptill is the second-leading batter in T20I format with the most sixes, only behind Rohit Sharma, who has 182 sixes.
4. Brandon Mccullum (New Zealand) – 398 sixes :
Current England coach and former New Zealand skipper Brandon Mccullum is standing 4th in this queue with 398 big shots in international cricket. McCullum is among the only three batters with 100 or more sixes in test cricket. He has 107 sixes in tests, 200 sixes in ODIs, and 91 sixes in 70 innings in T20I format. McCullum’s aggressive approach was loved worldwide.
3. Shahid Afridi (Pakistan) – 476 sixes :
Known by the name of Boom Boom Afridi, Shahid Afridi was known for smashing the ball out of the park multiple times during his playing career. Just like Brandon Mccullum, the Pakistani all-rounder was also unafraid of the conditions and bowlers. Afridi has scored 476 sixes in his international career. He has 52 sixes in tests, 351 in ODIs, and 73 in T20Is. Afridi is also the leading six-hitter in ODI cricket.
2. Chris Gayle (West Indies) – 553 sixes :
Former West Indies opener Chris Gayle was the world’s leading batter with the most number sixes in international cricket before Rohit Sharma overtook him. It is his muscle power that puts him among the top five six-hitters across formats. Gayle has 98 test sixes, 331 ODI sixes, and 124 T20I sixes in his career. Gayle has smashed 1056 sixes in his T20 career, playing league cricket in various countries.
1. Rohit Sharma (India) – 597 sixes:
Rohit Sharma, known as “Hitman,” holds the record for most sixes hit by a batsman in the history of international cricket. Rohit overtook Chris Gayle during ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match between India and Afghanistan in Delhi to become the batsman with most sixes in international cricket.
Before the match, he was two hits behind Gayle and with four sixes in the game, he overtook the Universe Boss to become the batsman with most sixes in international cricket. Rohit Sharma currently has 597 sixes to his name in international cricket (323 in ODIs, 80 in tests and 190 in T20Is).
