Sanju Samson registered a four-ball duck against Sri Lanka in the third T20I on July 30.

India wicket-keeper batter Sanju Samson once again failed to grab a golden opportunity to cement his place in the T20I side after he registered second duck in the ongoing three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele on July 30.

Many cricket fans criticized Indian management after Samson was benched in the opening T20I fixture of the ongoing series against Sri Lanka on July 28. However, the 29-year-old Samson got his opportunity in the rain-hit second T20I match, when he was included in the playing XI.

Sadly, the right-handed batter couldn’t impress with the bat as he got out on a golden duck during the match. He was castled by Sri Lanka off-spinner Maheesh Theekshana.

It was expected that Samson might be benched for the final T20I against Lanka. Surprisingly, the right-handed batter got another chance in the playing XI on July 30 in Pallekele.

After the dismissal of opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, the wicket-keeper batter Samson came out to bat in the third over of India’s innings. However, on the fifth ball of Sri Lanka pacer Chamindu Wickramasinghe over, Samson tried an aerial shot, but the ball took the thick leading edge of the bat and went straight through deep point.

The 29-year-old this time got out on a four-ball duck, which is his second consecutive duck. Soon after his dismissal, many cricket fans started criticizing Samson for wasting the opportunities given to him.

Here are some of the tweets:
