Virat Kohli scored his third century of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in the semi-final vs NZ.

India are taking on New Zealand in the first semi-finals of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at Wankhede Stadium on November 15, 2023. Indian batter Virat Kohli has etched his name in record books by becoming the first batsman to score 50 ODI centuries. Breaking the record previously held by his idol Sachin Tendulkar, who achieved 49 ODI centuries, Kohli’s remarkable feat came in the first semi-finals of the ICC Cricket World Cup against New Zealand.

He has had stellar performances in the ongoing World Cup. Kohli’s exceptional batting display included three centuries so far. His first century came in Pune against Bangladesh, followed by a remarkable innings against South Africa at Eden Gardens. The third century was notched up in the crucial semi-finals clash against New Zealand in Mumbai.

Kohli got to his century in 106 balls which included 8 boundaries and one six. Virat has broken many records in the ongoing World Cup and has also scored most runs in a single edition of World Cup.

Rohit Sharma set the stage with a blazing knock of 47 runs off 29 balls. Shubman Gill, showcasing his prowess, contributed 79 runs off 65 balls before retiring hurt. However, it was Virat Kohli who held the innings together. Shreyas Iyer, not to be outdone, added firepower with. Indian team are currently batting 303 after loss of one wicket in 42 overs.
