Blackmagic? Watch: Tony de Zorzi gets dismissed right after Virat Kohli swaps bails during 1st test

Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Tony de Zorzi two deliveries after Virat Kohli swapped the bails.

South African top-order was having a great time against Indian pace attack after lunch on day two as opener Dean Elgar and Tony de Zorzi had a 93-run stand for the second wicket. De Zorzi played a great support to Dean Elgar in the partnership and frustrated Indian camp with his gritty batting against Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj.

South African opener Dean Elgar was scoring runs from the one end as he went past his 24th test fifty. Elgar looked confident in his shot selection and put Indian bowlers under pressure. Both of the South African batsmen were looking set for a marathon stand, but one moment from Virat Kohli brought good luck for team India at Supersport park in Centurion for India and they picked up 2 wickets in 2 overs.

Blackmagic from Virat Kohli?

Fans on social media pointed out that just two deliveries before Tony de Zorzi’s wicket, Virat Kohli went closer to stump and checked the bails. After looking at them closely, Kohli decided to swap the bails at the batting end. This happened when he smacked a four off Bumrah’s bowling through the gully region. This brought good luck for India and Bumrah got de Zorzi and Keegan Petersen (2) out in two overs.

Social media started a meme-fest as fans claimed that Virat Kohli did some Blackmagic to bring wickets for India. Tony de Zorzi was caught at third slip by Yashasvi Jaiswal. De Zorzi was dismissed after scoring 28 runs in 62 balls. South African number 3 had a terrific ODI series against India and scored a century and a half-century in the series.

Jasprit Bumrah castled Keegan Petersen in the next over for just two runs. Petersen was South Africa’s hero in their previous test series against India in 2021-22. Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has bowled only 3 overs so far in the innings as team India are looking to get the advantages of grass patches present on the surface. Aiden Markram perished early at a score of 5.
