Making his debut for the Sussex County team in the Vitality Blast tournament, 24-year-old Scottish Bradly Currie has become a new sensation around the world with his sensational catch against Hampshire. Left Arm pacer became an overnight sensation due to his magnificent flying effort in deep mid-wicket to dismiss dangerous Benny Howell. Chasing 184 against Sussex, Hampshire required 23 runs in 11 balls when Howell tried to go over the deep mid-wicket against Tymal Mills. Brad Currie was fielding at Fine Leg, he came running from his position to the deep mid-wicket and as the ball approached the boundary he jumped in and dived running to his left to take a screamer.

Currie’s effort made it look much easier than it was. English skipper Ben Stokers and Former Indian wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik also praised Currie’s effort to take a screamer at the boundary in a crunch situation. Dinesh Karthik tweeted., “Has to be one of the greatest catches ever, The distance he covered before diving… Phewww”. Sussex made a good comeback after Currie’s catch and won the game by 6 runs. Chasing 184, Hampshire had a decent chance with Benny Howell (25) and Chris Wood (15) batting together with 7 wickets down. After the catch, Mills and Karvelas bowled two magnificent overs to restrict Hampshire to 177/9.

Left-arm-pacer Brad Currie did well with the ball too. Currie picked up 3 wickets and conceded only 27 runs in his 4 overs. This was Brad Currie’s debut game for Sussex in the T20 format. Batting first, Sussex scored 183/6 with the help of Oli Carter (64) and captain Ravi Bopara (30) innings. Sussex are reeling under pressure in the points table as this was their only 3rd victory in 9 Vitality Blast games. Currie has played 5 First-class, 8 List-A games for Sussex.
