Will Ben Stokes retire again from ODIs after CWC 2023 ? England all-rounder answers

Ben Stokes came out of ODI retirement to play for England in ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
Defending champions England have been running in poor form in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 have won only two games in the ongoing tournament and have failed to defend their World Cup crown. England brought back the hero of their first-ever World Cup win in 2019 out of retirement. All-rounder Ben Stokes took u-turn from his retirement from ODIs right before the World Cup but he didn’t have a great start of the campaign.
Ben Stokes might be playing his final ODI game of his career when he takes the field against Pakistan at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. He had not announced anything on his ODI future as yet but some conditions put him at the end of his ODI career. Stokes is suffering from a knee injury and currently looks focused on his test captaincy as well as in the shortest format of the game. Stokes played a brilliant hand for his team in the 2022 T20 World Cup 2022 final as well.
Ben Stokes not sure about his ODI future!
English all-rounder Ben Stokes had not announced anything yet. When asked about his ODI future in a press conference, He said, “I have no idea, I am sure there will be a conversation but I don’t know when that will be. I have used the time between games here to give myself a better opportunity after the surgery.” Stokes delayed his knee surgery only to take part in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 but it didn’t turn out to be a memorable campaign for him and England.
Ben Stokes missed the first three games for England due to a niggle on his hip. He missed the games against New Zealand, Bangladesh and Afghanistan and made his comeback against South Africa played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Stokes suffered from a knee injury in the major part of this year that forced him to opt out from bowling as well. Stokes has not bowled in any innings of the World Cup game he played in India.
Ben Stokes had two brilliant last games against Australia and Netherlands in which he went on to score a half-century and a century respectively. He scored his maiden World Cup hundred after reaching a three-figure mark against Netherlands at MCA Stadium in Pune. Stokes might make his announcement after the World Cup as his focus will shift back to the upcoming T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA next year in 2024.
