Sunil Chhetri has been declared as the brand ambassador of the company.
Bengaluru FC tied up with Indian Superfood brand Pintola on a one-year deal. Pintola has been announced as the club’s ‘Official Peanut Butter Partner.’ This is the club’s first tie-up with an Indian superfood brand.
Pintola will also be a shirt sponsor for the Blues' 2022-23 season. The owner of Pintola, Anand Patel was happy to be associated with the club and said, “We are trying to cater to the football community, and this is something new for us.” Bengaluru FC CEO Mandar Tamhane said, “We are proud to be associated with Pintola. In 2018-19 they were the best-selling superfood brand in India. We are looking forward to the association and the product is like a fuel to our players. Having the right kind of diet is very essential for athletes and this association shows how much importance we place on the diet of our athletes.”
Pintola has a range of 21 products and will have a target consumer base of over 100 million by 2024. Bengaluru FC captain Sunil Chhetri was also announced as Pintola’s brand ambassador. Chhetri is very particular about the brands he represents, and his team visited Pintola’s manufacturing factory in Ahmedabad before agreeing to the association.
Patel added, “I presented all the products to Sunil Chhetri, and I showed his sister the manufacturing process and explained every step. What kind of machinery we have, where we import our machinery from, and how we compare to world-stock peanut butter companies were other questions that I personally answered. We are announcing a long association with BFC and hope to renew it year after year.”
On what makes Pintola unique, Patel answered, “The first differentiator is that our brand was built on a 100% natural base. We started promoting a category of products without salt, sugar, and preservatives, only peanut butter paste. The peanuts are carefully selected based on the size and our products are always fresh. Our protein content is higher and fresher than other brands. We have a huge range of peanut butter, almond butter, rice cakes, and cashew butter. All our products are healthy and natural for the breakfast category.”
Patel added, “We very aggressively promote vegan protein. If you don’t know, peanuts have 2.5 times more protein than eggs. Even gold-medal Olympic winners credit peanut butter."
On the other aspects of the partnership, Mandar Tamhane answered, “Being a brand association we will have our players representing the brand. Whatever associations can be made through physical and digital modes, we will support them. Currently, the association is with Bengaluru FC but can be extended to other sports and our sports excellence program.”
