Foreigners dominate the list of individual performers who made significant contributions to their teams' gameplay.

Another match week of the Indian Super League (ISL 2022-23) went by and we were able to witness some scintillating football from all teams. The week began with a demolishing performance by Mumbai City who defeated Bengaluru FC 4-0. It ended on a similar note, with FC Goa registering a commanding 3-0 win over ATK Mohun Bagan.

In between, Odisha FC showed an inspiring performance to make a comeback win over East Bengal after trailing 0-2 to win 4-2. Individuals like Pedro Martin, Jorge Pereyra Díaz, and Ivan Kaliuzhnyi made significant contributions to their team's overall performance. In addition to that, their teammates also took decisive responsibilities to contribute to their teams' joyous exhibitions.

Here, we will take a look at the past week's action and focus on the players who stood out from others. Presenting to you the top five performers of the ISL 2022-23 Game-week 7:

5. Ivan Kaliuzhnyi

After the end of this Game-week, Ivan Kaliuzhnyi is leading the race for the Golden Boot, alongside Noah Sadaoui - with four goals. It was another good week for the Blasters, who have now registered back-to-back victories. Kaliuzhnyi played a significant role in the game and provided stability to the side's midfield.

His presence was a constant source of menace for Hyderabad defenders who found it difficult to cope with his creative playing style. Even though he did not score in the game, it was his all-round performance that ensured that the Yellow Army took all three points from Hyderabad.

4. VP Suhair

VP Suhair played his best game of the season this past week but unfortunately in a fixture that his team lost. He is the only player on this list from a losing side. East Bengal started their game brilliantly and scored twice in the first half.

Both goals were assisted by Suhair, one from the right side of the field and the other from the left. He looked lively in the game throughout the first half, keeping Odisha defenders on their toes. However, a poor display from the team's defensive players meant that they lost the game despite Suhair's heroics.

3. Jorge Pereyra Diaz

Mumbai City had yet another good game-week when they defeated Durand Cup champions Bengaluru FC 4-0. It was a sort of revenge for the Islanders as they were defeated by the same opponent in the Durand Cup finale. Jorge Pereyra Diaz played a central role in Mumbai's triumph by opening the scoring for his side. He scored in the 14th minute of the game, assisted another goal, and aided his side in creating numerous other chances throughout the encounter.

2. Anwar Ali

Anwar Ali is the only defender to feature on this list. He was brilliant in FC Goa's game against ATK Mohun Bagan, which his side won 3-0. Anwar played a principal role in FC Goa's defence and prevented the dangerous attackers of ATK Mohun Bagan from creating anything worthwhile.

Consequently, ATK Mohun Bagan could not register a single shot on target throughout the game. He partnered well with first Marc Valiente and then Fares Arnaout, to marshall the defensive troops of his side. The defensive duos were able to take the sting out of the Green & Maroons' attacks for a major part of the game.

1. Pedro Martin

Pedro Martin, undoubtedly, has been the most influential player of the past week. He was the main man behind Odisha's inspiring comeback win against East Bengal. After coming on as a sub, he scored twice within three minutes to equal the score with East Bengal. Moreover, he looked threatening throughout the time he was on the pitch. He did not let East Bengal defenders have any respite, who, eventually, succumbed to the pressure and conceded two more.
