West Ham United vs ATK Mohun Bagan kicks off simultaneously with Bengaluru FC vs Stellenbosch FC at the Next Generation Cup 2023. The Mariners will be hoping to carry on the impressive form that they demonstrated in the third-place playoff.

They lost out to Bengaluru FC on penalties in the RFDL semi-finals, but showcased their potential in the third place playoff against RFYC.

West Ham have provided some footballing legends from their academy, and the current crop of young stars will be wanting to prove their mettle in the Next Gen Cup.

Venue

The 2023 Next Gen Cup fixture West Ham United vs ATK Mohun Bagan will be conducted at the Reliance Corporate Park in Mumbai between May 17 and May 26, 2023.

Format

The competition includes eight teams, who will be placed in two groups of four. Each team will play against all of their opponents in the group in a round robin format.

The top teams from each group will then play the final on the 26th of May.

The teams playing are going to be ranked on the basis of points. For a win, a team will get three points, one point for a draw, and none for a loss. At the end of all the games, if two top teams (in a group) are tied on points, then the following criteria are to be followed.

• Points in head-to-head matches among tied teams
• Goal difference in head-to-head matches among tied teams
• Goals scored in head-to-head matches among tied teams
• Goal difference in all group matches
• Goals scored in all group matches
• Penalty shoot-out if only two teams are tied and they met in the last round of the group
• Disciplinary points (yellow card = 1 point, red card as a result of two yellow cards = 3 points, direct red card = 3 points, yellow card followed by direct red card = 4 points)
