Renedy Singh proved his managerial ability during his short stint as the interim manager of East Bengal in 2021-22.

Former India international, captain, former assistant coach at FC Pune City and East Bengal, Renedy Singh is all set to take charge as the assistant to Simon Grayson at Bengaluru FC, Khel Now can confirm. A source tracking the move informed Khel Now, “Renedy Singh was expected to make a comeback into the Indian Super League. He had talks with other ISL clubs including East Bengal. But now, he is all set to join Bengaluru FC.”

A believer in possession-based attacking football, Renedy Singh will be perhaps the best person to assist Simon Grayson. The source added, “Renedy Singh is going to Tokyo on 22 June for the licensing thing. When he comes back, he’ll join Bengaluru FC.”

Bengaluru FC’s 2022-23 season

Last season, was perhaps the most adventurous season for Bengaluru FC since the club’s inception. They brought in experienced English manager Simon Grayson and lifted the Durand Cup 2022 in style, defeating Mumbai City FC in the grand finale.

In October, when the Indian Super League started, things were not going as per plan for the Blues. But ever since the new year, 2023 started, the ball started rolling for the side. They remained undefeated till they reached the final of the ISL, where they lost out to Mohun Bagan in the final, that too on penalties.

Even in the Hero Super Cup, which was held in April, Bengaluru FC marched forward to the final, yet again. But this time, it was Odisha FC who got the better of them and lifted their first-ever accolade since their inception.

How are Bengaluru FC preparing for the upcoming season?

Earlier this year, when Bengaluru FC had not started winning games, reports emerged that the club are in intention to secure the services of Manolo Marquez. However, now the club have put all their faith on Simon Grayson. He is staying at the Kanteerava and not going elsewhere.

Defender Aleksandar Jovanovic and midfielder Suresh Singh Wangjam have penned fresh extensions with the side. Also, the Blues have released most of their foreign contingent and a few of the Indian players too.
