Elsinho played top-notch football during his stay in Mexico.

Jamshedpur FC are highly determined to get back on track following a disastrous 2022-23 season. And to solve their problems in the middle of the park, the club has identified Brazilian central midfielder Elsinho, Khel Now can confirm.

Jamshedpur FC are in advanced talks to rope in Brazilian midfielder Elsinho ahead of the 2023-24 season,” a source close to developments informed Khel Now.

About the player

The player began his footballing career with São Paulo’s third tier club Clube Atlético Votuporanguense in the year 2011 before moving on to Olímpia-SP in 2013 and then to Naviraiense-MS in 2014.

Elsinho’s professional career began in 2015 when he signed for Brazilian side Oeste FC. Although he spent six months at the club, he made just one appearance and left the club soon after due to lack of opportunities.. He then went on to sign for another Brazilian club Rio Claro, but failed to make any impact there as well.

The very same year in 2016, Elsinho moved out of his comfort zone and his homeland and signed for Mexican second division side FC Juarez. He went on to make 136 official appearances for the Mexican side while scoring 10 goals in the process.

After spending almost four years at the club, the midfielder then signed for fellow Mexican club Celaya FC in the winter of 2020. He played only 10 games for the Los Toros before concluding his stint in Mexico.

In the summer of 2020-21, the 32-year-old put pen to paper with Segunda Division B side Racing De Ferrol. He played 25 games for the Green Devils and even scored four goals in the process. And after being without a club for an entire season, he moved back to Brazil and signed for Port. Santista in January 2023.

Jamshedpur FC’s preparations ahead of the 2023-24 season

After winning the league shield in the 2021-22 season, Jamshedpur FC were expected to continue their rise in the following season, but things took the wrong turn. After their title-winning manager Owen Coyle left the club, Jamshedpur FC hired the services of English manager Aidy Boothroyd

But, to everyone’s surprise, the club put up a miserable performance and finished in the lower half of the table. Ahead of the 2023-24 season, the club is in advanced talks with French midfielder Jeremy Manzoro, as revealed by Khel Now earlier. Even winger Imran Khan is making a move to the city. They are also set to appoint Scott Cooper as their new head coach.
