Top five clubs interested in signing French star Kylian Mbappe

The 24-year-old striker will be out of contract in 2024

According to rumours, Paris Saint-Germain are open to selling Kylian Mbappe in the summer window, casting doubt on the Frenchman’s future at the Parc des Princes.

Mbappe pulled a stunning about-face this summer, turning down the chance to join Real Madrid in favour of extending his contract with the Ligue 1 champions through the summer of 2024.

The French striker is thought to have wanted to remain at PSG until the end of his contract because, according to the Spanish news outlet Marca, the player’s and the club’s bond has entirely crumbled.

Below are the top five clubs keen on signing the 2018 World Cup winner

5. Tottenham Hotspur

According to the Spanish news site MARCA, Tottenham Hotspur have apparently entered the competition to recruit Kylian Mbappe, who is a target for Real Madrid and plays for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). Due to his deal ending at the conclusion of the 2018 season, the French star’s position at PSG has grown more hazy.

Tensions in the team arose after Mbappe announced in May that he would not be staying at PSG through 2024. The French club pondered selling him because they didn’t want to take the chance of losing him for free in a year.

4. Manchester United

Despite its recent troubles, Manchester United is still one of the top clubs in the world; therefore, the Old Trafford club remains always on the lookout for the best players in football.

Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Anthony Martial, among others, have been significantly underwhelming over the past few seasons, which may have tempted United to try to entice Mbappe to Manchester. Although improbable, it is nonetheless a possibility.

3. Chelsea

Whenever it pertains to paying large, Chelsea are not afraid, and Todd Boehly may find it difficult to pass up the opportunity to sign Mbappe.

The offensive firepower in Mauricio Pochettino’s team right now includes players like Christopher Nkunku, Raheem Sterling, and Mykhaylo Mudryk. Mbappe’s price shouldn’t be an issue either because Chelsea is consistently one of the biggest spenders in football.

2. Al-Hilal

The Frenchman is reportedly on the watch list of Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal, who intend to profit from the commotion regarding his predicament, as reported by RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins.

Al Hilal would like to provide PSG with an upfront payment of €200 million in addition to a massive offer of €400 million to finalise the agreement this summer.

It’s interesting that the agreement also gives Mbappe the chance of transferring to Madrid in the summer of 2024, a move that has long been rumoured.

1. Real Madrid

Real Madrid are obviously the logical pick since the Spanish giants have been connected to him since when he was with Monaco.

But after what transpired in the summer, Mbappe’s last-minute determination to turn down an offer to relocate to the Spanish capital left Madrid devastated and enraged. Despite this, it is possible that Madrid will continue to be intrigued if the possibility of purchasing Mbappe arises again, as the Frenchman only wants to join Los Blancos.
