Top five African players with most assists in Premier League history
Only one player is currently playing in the Premier League
African Footballers have managed to utilise the chances they get to play in the English Premier League by scoring and giving assists. There have been many African players who have played in the Premier League, but few of them have had a great impact on their teams. Most of the time, assists are provided by creative players on the pitch; players like Kevin De Bruyne and many more are known to assist providers. Here we look at the top five African players with the most assists in Premier League history:
5. Emmanuel Adebayor – 36
Upon signing for Arsenal, the club’s manager, Arsene Wenger, likened Adebayor to one of his major influences as a striker, Nwankwo Kanu, and described him as tall, good in the air, and capable of making good runs behind the defenders. The Togo frontman played for three of the league’s biggest clubs, winning admirers and making enemies aplenty with Arsenal, Manchester City, and Tottenham Hotspur.
Once Africa’s most expensive player, he scored 36 goals. He was also known for his pace, strength, and technique, as well as his goalscoring and ability to link up with his teammates.
4. Sadio Mane – 38
A versatile forward, Mané is a prolific goalscorer whose main traits are his finishing, speed, technique, and trickery in possession, as well as his decision-making, tactical awareness, creativity, agility, balance, control, touch on the ball, and dribbling skills.
One of the Premier League’s all-time greats, only his former teammate Mohamed Salah has scored more goals among African players to have featured in the top flight than Mane. He also registered 38 assists in the English top division before moving on to Bayern Munich in the previous season, winning the title once during his glittering spell at Anfield.

2. Mohamed Salah – 59

Salah was the best player on an incredibly exciting Liverpool team and made their games must-watch TV for any soccer fan.
Salah may be criticised for his individualism in the final third, but he’s nonetheless registered 59 assists in the Premier League to date.
1. Riyad Mahrez – 61
The illustrious, innovative winger was essential to Leicester City’s unbelievable PL title-winning campaign in 2015-16. Mahrez took the league by storm with his unstoppable pace and brilliant left foot, becoming the first Algerian to win the PL and PFA Player of the Year.
