AS Monaco closing in on signing of Arsenal & USMNT star Folarin Balogun
Chelsea are also interested in signing Folarin Balogun
The negotiations between AS Monaco and Arsenal regarding the acquisition of striker Folarin Balogun are progressing well.
Chelsea have also expressed interest in the American international; the Blues continue to weigh Romelu Lukaku’s exit possibilities; and the Belgian international continues to train separately from the first-team group.
Positive negotiations on the transfer of striker Folarin Balogun between Monaco and Arsenal are ongoing, and Chelsea is also interested in the American international.
The terms of a possible agreement for the 22-year-old have been discussed in preliminary discussions between the Blues and middlemen.
However, a source informed Sky Sports News that Arsenal would demand more from Chelsea than they would for Folarin Balogun to relocate abroad.

Monaco, a French club, has not yet re-entered a better offer for Balogun, but it is believed that the discussions are focused on reaching a general agreement on a sum before confirming the payment arrangement.
Arsenal has not changed its £50 million asking price thus far. Personal issues shouldn’t stand in the way of the move, as Balogun is willing to join the Ligue 1 team.
Last year, he played 34 starts while on loan at Reims in France, scoring 21 league goals. Romelu Lukaku’s future at Stamford Bridge is uncertain, which is why Chelsea are interested in Balogun.
While the striker continues to practise separately from the first-team group, Chelsea are still considering possible exit strategies for him.
Juventus is interested in a deal, and Lukaku prefers to go there. But in order to pay for a permanent transfer, they must sell.
The clubs looked into a possible swap deal including Dusan Vlahovic. Still, they were unable to agree on terms since Juve reportedly demanded £34 million plus Lukaku in exchange for the Serbian striker.
In Juve’s first Serie A victory over Udinese on Sunday, Vlahovic started and scored. As things stand, Chelsea’s position habr constantly been to sign Lukaku to a long-term contract.
At this point in his career, the 30-year-old is weighing out moving to Saudi Arabia.
