Brighton 'don't plan on selling' Moises Caicedo this summer
Chelsea remain in negotiation to sign the young midfielder
Once the transfer season ends on September 1st, Brighton anticipates that Moises Caicedo will continue to be a member of the team. Despite Arsenal’s involvement in the midfielder in January, Chelsea also made a number of offers for him.
Brighton believe that no other team has yet met their valuation, and they do not anticipate that to alter this summer.
After Alexis MacAllister left for Liverpool, Brighton are confident that they do not need to sell 21-year-old Ecuadorian Caicedo.
That position has been communicated to Caicedo, and Brighton don’t see a problem with it. In January, the player requested departure from the Seagulls following inquiries from Arsenal.

Brighton declined, and Caicedo later agreed to a new, till 2027, contract, which he did in March. The Seagulls have reportedly turned down proposals of £70 million and £80 million from the Blues.
After placing sixth in the Premier League the previous season, Brighton earned a spot in the Europa League.
£80 million bid turned down
According to sources from ESPN, Chelsea’s bid of £80 million ($102 million) for midfielder Moises Caicedo was turned down by Brighton.
The West Londoners club continues to hold out for its estimate of more than £100 million after having two previous proposals for the 21-year-old dismissed.
After Mateo Kovacic, N’Golo Kante, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek departed the club earlier in the transfer window, current Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is eager to improve his midfield weapons.
Caicedo has become one of the most sought-after midfielders in the nation thanks to his achievements since joining the south coast club from Independiente del Valle in 2021. Brighton turned down an offer worth more than £60 million from Arsenal in January.
The Ecuadorian international subsequently agreed to an extension with Brighton in March that goes through 2027 after an initial dispute with the team over the unsuccessful transfer.
Upon qualifying for the Europa League after a sixth-place finish in the 2022–23 Premier League period, Albion are going to compete in European football for the very first occasion in the club’s history the following year.
